RESEARCH NETWORKS
I am associated with several international research networks based at universities and academic research organisations in the UK and the USA that bring together researchers and academics working in the areas of socio-legal studies, child sexual abuse, and gender-based violence.
I am one of the co-convenors and a member of this CRN along with Prof. Sharyn Roach Anleu (Flinders University, Adelaide, Australia) and Dr. Renata Grossi (University of Technology, Sydney, Australia).
This CRN brings together scholars from various disciplines whose focus is the role of emotion in the legal system. At its core is the belief that emotion—and attitudes about emotion—pervade legal thought and legal institutions. Although the legal system traditionally regarded emotion as a hindrance to rational thought, the current consensus in psychology, neuroscience, sociology, anthropology and other fields studying decision-making is that emotion is an integral part of the reasoning process. Law and Emotion scholars are working to identify and evaluate the roles various emotions play and ought to play in the legal realm.
With over 120 members from several parts of the world, we are a growing international research network. We organise panels at the LSA Annual Meetings where researchers present works in this field. OVUN
(Our Voices University Network)
I am a member of the Our Voices network, which is a programme of work coordinated by the Safer Young Lives Research Centre (formerly the International Centre: Researching child sexual exploitation, violence and trafficking) at the University of Bedfordshire in the UK.
Our Voices consists of a number of different projects and activities that share the same overarching aim - to promote the involvement of children and young people affected by sexual violence in research, policy and practice.
VAWG Research Network
I am a member of the Violence Against Women and Girls Research Network, founded by Professor Miranda Horvath (University of Suffolk) at Middlesex University, the UK.
It brings together researchers providing opportunities to meet regularly, share ongoing, completed and planned research, and collaborate with each other in a supportive environment.
